We founded Airbrushmypic.com in 2005 when we realized that the type of "Hollywood" photo
manipulation thats present in just about any publication you see today simply wasn't
available to the general public.
All the tools are available. Its possible to purchase an HP scanner/printer combination
for under $100 that can easily scan photos at 300 DPI and print 5x7 and 8x10 photos that look
great. Many households already have one. Some people even have a copy of Adobe
Photoshop.
All thats missing is the skill that comes from years of art school, thousands of hours of
experience working with clients that demand perfection, and mentoring by those who have
come before.
Having worked in the industry manipulating images for magazines like Seventeen and
Car Craft, for ad agencies, and for businesses and corporate clients, we knew dozens
of people who have the skills and experience. Most of them took side jobs, but only
from friends and friends of friends.
So, like with so many things, if you knew someone you were golden. Otherwise you were out
in the cold.
We created Airbrushmypic.com to close that gap to make the connection between the general public and the pros.
We wanted to keep the system as simple as possible: When you email your photo or call, we
connect you directly to a professional airbrush artist. For this project, this artist is
"your" artist. Yes, you can actually talk to your artist! Your artist will tell you
if what you want to do is possible and honestly tell you if its not.
For this work to be truly accessible we had to keep the price down, and we believe weve
managed to do just that. Most of the work we do comes in under $50 and at least half of
our work only costs the $25 minimum. We hope that at those prices people will even be able
to use airbrushmypic.com just for fun tweaking that Christmas family photo where the kid
moved, removing the person holding the dog in place to "pose" him, restoring that damaged
photo of Grandma and Grandpa, or cleaning the blemishes off that favorite photo that just
happened to be taken on a "bad skin" day.
We love our work, and were passionate about this concept. When you call you're very
likely to talk to one of us personally on the phone, and we perform personal quality
control checks of every piece of work that goes out. We stand by our work, and so far
our customers have been very satisfied.
We hope you'll give airbrushmypic.com a try and have a good time with it.
That's why we created it!
