These represent some of the questions we're most frequently asked. If you don't see
an answer to your question here, drop us a line at contact@airbrushmypic.com
or call us at (469) 424-1239.
| Q: |
How does the process work? |
| A: |
It’s pretty straightforward. Just email your photo to us at
contact@airbrushmypic.com along
with a description of what you’d like. We'll assign you to one of our artists,
who will take a look and either quote you a price right then and there or
contact you for more information.
If you’d like to talk to your artist personally, just say so in your initial
email and give us a way to contact you. If you'd like to call first, you can
speak directly with an artist by calling us at (469) 424-1239.
Once you receive a quote, all we need is your authorization to begin work.
When you authorize the work, we place your job into our production queue and
give you an estimated completion date. (We almost always complete your work on
or before the estimated completion date. If you have a time-crunch, let us
know. We can work with you.)
Upon completion of your job we'll notify you to contact us with payment
information. We accept Visa and Mastercard, and the best way to provide
payment information is over the phone. Once you’ve provided that information
we charge your card for the agreed-upon amount and send you your modified picture
and a receipt via return email.
|
| Q: |
How long will it take to complete my job? |
| A: |
Most jobs are ready within 48 hours. When we provide your quote we'll provide
an estimated completion date at the same time. If you have a particular time
crunch, give us a call and we'll work with you.
|
| Q: |
How much will it cost? |
| A: |
We need to see your photo and/or discuss it with you to give you a quote, but
we can tell you that most of our jobs come in under $50 and over half of them
cost only the $25 minimum. We can do a lot for a little. And if you want
magazine quality, it’s not anywhere near as expensive as you’d imagine. |
| Q: |
What kind of output can you do? |
| A: |
Just about anything. The only consideration with work destined for print is
resolution. While we can scale photos up to some extent, there's a limit.
If you want to print your 100 pixel by 100 pixel old-camera-phone photo
poster size, you might have a problem. If you're concerned, just give us a
call at (469) 424-1239 and speak to an artist. We'll get it straightened out.
As far as our return file format is concerned, we vary it based on what you
tell us you’d like to do with the photo. If you're planning to use it on
a website, as a desktop, etc., we'll likely recommend an RGB JPG. If you’re
going to print the photo on a home inkjet photo printer or one of the
now-ubiquitous Kodak photo stations (like in Walgreens, CVS, Best Buy,
etc.), we'll output high resolution RGB. If you’re sending it to a print
shop or printing to some high-end printers, we’d recommend CMYK.
In general, just be sure to let your artist know what you want to do with
the final output and we’ll help you find the right format and output to it.
|
| Q: |
Can you send me an actual print? |
| A: |
Yes. However, in many cases it makes much more sense to send you a digital
file which you can print on a home printer or via any number of readily
available, inexpensive printing services. For example, Kodak now has
kiosks in many local stores which can produce beautiful prints from almost
any digital storage medium (CD, USB drive, memory cards of many types, etc.)
for very little money. 4" x 6" prints are usually under $1 each, and
even 8" x 10" photos can be had for $10 or so. Here in Texas these
kiosks are in Walgreens and CVS stores as well as in Best Buy and some
grocery stores. However, if you would like us to return a physical print, we
can oblige. There is a slight extra charge as well as packaging and postage.

| Q: |
How do I get a quote for my job? |
| A: |
Just give us a call at (469) 424-1239 and/or send us your photo at
contact@airbrushmypic.com.
We'll ask any questions we need to quote your job and give you your
quote quickly.
|
| Q: |
What do I need to provide you? |
| A: |
Your artist will work with you to make sure we get the best initial file to
assure the best output. If you have a scanner at home and are thinking about
scanning and sending a photo, you can give us a call at (469) 424-1239 first to
let us advise you regarding the best initial scanner settings. If you
really, really don't want to scan the photo yourself (or you don't have any
way of doing so), we can receive the photo by standard mail and return it.
Call for more details.
|
| Q: |
Do you guarantee your work? |
| A: |
We don't offer a return guarantee as the work we provide is in digital form
and can't be "returned." However, we have virtually no dissatisfied customers.
This isn't an accident; Our artists are very experienced, and our system provides
a lot of contact between you and the artist. Generally if you or the artist has
a question, you've spoken about it directly.
It's very important to us that our customers are satisfied. If you'd like to
speak with us personally to make sure that our capabilities are in line with
your expectations, we're happy to speak with you. Give us a call
at (469) 424-1239.
|
| Q: |
Do you keep my pictures private? |
| A: |
Yes. We take privacy very serious. We have a privacy policy
to which we conform carefully. We've worked for numerous individuals, businesses,
corporations, schools, and other organizations and have a deep respect for
the privacy required by each. If you have specific questions regarding
privacy issues (or need additional protection via an NDA or other
legal agreement), give us a call at (469) 424-1239 for more information.

| Q: |
What kind of work do you do? |
| A: |
We do a very wide variety of work. For example:
- We've performed countless corrections on photos of people including changes to body shape, skin color and texture, eyes, hair, and pretty much anything else you can think of.
- We've made plain wedding photos into bridal magazine specials for framing and anniversary gifts.
- We've removed construction debris from buildings for architects.
- We've put Santa hats on cats.
- We've touched up headshots for actors.
- We've restored photos that look so bad you wouldn’t imagine they can be recovered.
- We've removed exes from family photos.
- We've simulated new hair colors and 'dos from magazine photos. (It's a lot better than "letting it grow out.")
- We've removed ugly curtains from house-for-sale photos.
You name it –- we've probably done something like it. When you consider the low
price involved, there's no reason not to try whatever fun idea you have.
|
| Q: |
No, really. What’s the weirdest thing you've ever done? |
| A: |
See our privacy policy.
